“The future of the critically endangered New Zealand Fairy Tern”
In 2006 Gwenda Pulham was awarded a Queens Service Medal (QSM) in recognition of her efforts in the raising of awareness of the plight of the N Z Fairy Tern whose population is still only approximately 40 birds. Gwenda has been a tireless advocate for these birds for many years and has been instrumental in the development of the recovery plan which has now seen a slight increase in numbers in recent years.
