Conditions of entry:

Competition is open to all Far North residents aged 16 years & over. One entry per person. Winners will choose a gift voucher from one of our participating ‘Green Up Far North!’ businesses. Competition closes midnight on the 19th Sept. 2010. Winning numbers will be published in the Northland Age on 23rd September, 2010, & announced over Te Hiku radio. A valid number must be produced to claim prize.

The following questions have been sent to all the candidates for the Te Hiku Community Board, the Te Hiku Ward Representatives for FNDC, and for Mayor of the district.

\r\n

Each candidate, in alphabetical order, will have 3 minutes for their address and then 2 minutes for questions from the floor, except the mayoral aspirants who will have 7 minutes for their address and then 3 minutes for questions from the floor. These time limits will be strictly adhered to so that we can keep to our timetable as written below.

On behalf of the Ahipara whareuku project in conjunction with the University of Auckland and Te Puni Kokiri, the Unaiki Mare Whanau Trust would like to invite you to a hui about alternative options for building papakianga on whenua tupuna for whanau and hapu.

\r\n

A rare opportunity to hear presentations from Rau Hoskins, Director of Design Tribe Architects and Dr Kepa Morgan, Associate Dean of the Civil Engineering Department for the University of Auckland will be of definite value.

\r\n

They will be discussing, amongst other issues:

  • Papakainga construction technologies - including Uku
  • \r\n
  • Papakainga infrastructure technologies / alternative systems
  • \r\n
  • Papakainga design principles - moving beyond the box
